Custom-made bedroom furniture in Boughton – Commissions
What better way to fit out your bedroom than with custom-made bedroom furniture uniquely designed to suit your lifestyle and tailored to your specific space and storage needs? Our recent clients, owners of an extensively renovated semi-detached property in the scenic village of Boughton in West Northamptonshire, entrusted the job to our cabinet specialists at Grand Union Designs.
The design brief:
First and foremost, the main request of the clients was to maximise storage in their master bedroom without compromising on the feeling of space. Presented with a completely blank canvas, they desired a clean, modern, airy continuation of the house proper.
Collaborative design
Working hand-in-hand with the client, the design team quickly set about creating a mood board; offering examples of cabinet styles, tones, design features, and brassware options.
“The client opted for a small bead Victorian mold on the doors and to keep a neutral palette throughout. They chose Crofts and Assinder, Matt Black Stirling bars for the wardrobes, and Calgary knobs for the cabinets. Once the desired look and finish were agreed upon, we then worked on creating a carefully considered range of hand-built fitted bedroom furniture that would make the most of the shape and dimensions of the room.”

Custom-made bedroom furniture
For this master bedroom, we handcrafted and installed L-shaped 'his and her' wardrobes with integral motion-sensitive lighting. The dressing table and two floating bedside cabinets were finished with practical and sleek inset glass tops. A large chest of drawers provided more valuable storage space. In the same theme and to use every available inch, we installed a small L-shaped shoe cupboard in a dead corner of the room. For a homogenous and fitted finish, the furniture was made to complement and look like a continuation of the room’s skirting boards.
