1999, a group of like-minded highly skilled cabinet makers shared a vision: to form a consortium to produce the finest luxury handcrafted furniture and kitchens, proudly made in Northamptonshire.

And so it was that Grand Union Designs was formed.

From small acorns…

In the village of Weedon, at a stone’s throw from the Grand Union canal, the first humble workshop was opened by Philip Watts, James Murphy, and Michael Goacher.

As the company and its quality reputation grew, Grand Union Designs relocated to a larger facility in Daventry, which is still our home today.

While the company has grown in size and moved with the times in terms of design styles, materials and innovations, our foundations are still rooted in tradition. We share that same passion and respect for our products and processes as when we first started. We pride ourselves on keeping our highly skilled traditional cabinet making techniques and the legacy of Great British craftsmanship very much alive.
